Glow in the dark kayaking is Whitby’s must-do summer bucket list experience. As the sun sets over the Whitby Harbour, climb into one of our transparent glow in the dark kayaks and watch the water light up beneath you.

Our night kayaking glow-in-the-dark paddle is $80 for 2 people (50 minutes) and includes life jackets, paddles, a safety kit, a Bluetooth speaker, and a brief safety orientation.

  • 01HOW MUCH DO KAYAK RENTALS IN WHITBY COST?

    Kayak rentals in Whitby at Illuminated Escapes start at $40 for a single kayak and $70 for a tandem for a 50-minute session. Glow-in-the-dark sunset sessions are available in a tandem kayak at $80 for a 50-minute session and are our most popular experience at Illuminated Escapes. Group and corporate rates are available, contact us directly for pricing.

  • 02WHERE CAN I RENT A KAYAK IN WHITBY?

    Illuminated Escapes offers kayak rentals in Whitby at Port Whitby Marina. We are Whitby’s only transparent and glow-in-the-dark kayak rental company, operating on the waters of the Whitby Harbour. Sessions run during the weekends from June to September, with daytime and sunset slots available. Walk-ins are welcome for daytime sessions, and sunset sessions are recommended to be booked in advance online. Our location at Port Whitby Marina is located at 297 Front St W, Whitby, ON

  • 03ARE SINGLE KAYAKS AVAILABLE FOR GLOW-IN-THE DARK SUNSET SESSIONS AT WHITBY?

    Single kayaks are not available for individual sunset bookings at Port Whitby Marina due to emergency response procedures. They can be accommodated for odd-numbered groups of three or more paddlers. Contact Illuminated Escapes in advance to arrange a group sunset session at Port Whitby Marina that includes single kayaks.

  • 04HOW LONG ARE GLOW-IN-THE-DARK KAYAKING SESSIONS AT WHITBY?

    Glow-in-the-dark sunset sessions at Port Whitby Marina in Whitby are 50 minutes. Paddlers explore the Whitby Harbour in transparent LED-illuminated kayaks with a Bluetooth speaker at sunset. 100-minute sessions are available upon request – contact Illuminated Escapes directly to arrange an extended session.

    Yes, parking is available on site. Please note that parking is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Free parking is available for Whitby residents; paid parking applies for non-residents.
